Irish Sea Moss ( Chondrus Crispus ) is a species of algae which grows abundantly along rocky coastlines of the Atlantic coast of Europe, North America and Caribbean Islands. Sea Moss is not actually a moss but a type of seaweed. One of mother nature; most powerful superfoods that exist in the ocean today.  

What is the origin of Sea Moss ?

Sea Moss grows in different locations around the world. During the mid 1840’s in the time of Great Famine also called the “Irish Potato Famine” that occurred in Ireland. The potato crops failed in successive years. During that period the starving Irish would harvest their rocky shores to use it as medicine. It was even used to obtain nutrients during the time of the famine.
